Assessment

The assessment of postgraduate students in the Postgraduate Programme is understood more as a productive and constructive process, and less as a final numerical grade. Its main goals are, on the one hand, continuous improvement and creative collaboration with instructors, and on the other, the safeguarding and ongoing enhancement of the programme’s academic and pedagogical quality.

Key features of the assessment:

  • At the beginning of each semester, instructors will clearly outline the course requirements, explain the assessment criteria, and answer questions.
  • Regular meetings and collaborations will take place between instructors and students.
  • Numerical assessment will be accompanied by descriptive documentation, highlighting the positive aspects and the weaknesses of each assignment.
  • In the class following each assignment’s evaluation, instructors will, with discretion and without personal remarks, provide general comments, ideas, and suggestions for improvement.
  • In cases where serious weaknesses are identified that require special and possibly individual support, instructors will take every possible initiative.

Criteria considered in the assessment:

  1. Participation in discussions held during class.
  2. Initiative and collaborative spirit in workshops, labs, and all types of collective activities.
  3. Skills in developing oral and written academic discourse.
  4. Originality in research-type assignments.
  5. Deep understanding, critical ability, and substantial synthesis in literature-based assignments.
  6. Methodical preparation of academic texts based on instructors’ guidelines regarding format, structure, and type of bibliographic references.
  7. Plagiarism: All assignments will undergo thorough examination, and cases of plagiarism will be strictly penalized.
